An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join our Sports, Irrigation and Assets Team to help enhance and maintain the city’s open space.
The Irrigation Team Member is responsible for undertaking the day-to-day irrigation works, routine maintenance, repairs, inspections and testing of irrigation assets (including irrigation systems, controllers, pumps, drinking fountains) and water management assets (wetlands and water storage ponds, pipes and other infrastructure) in council's open space areas.
What you’ll be working on :
- Maintaining, repairing and testing irrigation systems, controllers, pumps and drinking fountains across Hobsons Bay’s open spaces.
- Responding to customer requests.
- Undertaking irrigation efficiency audits.
What you need to succeed :
Certificate III in Irrigation or relevant experience. Victorian Driver's Licence, preferably with medium rigid endorsement. Experience in irrigation maintenance and repairs across a large service organisation. Be physically capable of undertaking the work.Why you should apply :

This role is hands-on, outdoor work, where you will apply your skills to keep open spaces well irrigated, looking good and safe for play.
