The Enterprise ICT Architect will provide overall direction, definition and facilitation for the development of the agency’s technology strategy, roadmaps, and plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic direction. This role requires developing a comprehensive roadmap for durable, re-usable ICT solutions, balancing current needs and future growth, and prioritising ICT investment. The position will work closely with business and ICT stakeholders to guide the agency through its digital transformation, ensuring the adoption of modern, fit-for-purpose technologies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy: Develop and maintain ICT strategy, current state architecture, target state architecture and roadmaps to enable and support business strategic direction and objectives
- Planning: Develop and maintain multi-year and yearly agency ICT work plans, to undertake the ICT transformation, while incorporating operational and sustainment activities. Lead more detailed planning and design. Agree priorities and adjust workplans as constraints materialise and evolve.
- Design: Collaboratively identify and cost ICT solutions that best meet business and user needs.
- Assistance: deliver the services of the Enterprise Architecture section, including by undertaking activities such as:
- Architecture practice improvement.
- Design and delivery practice improvement.
- Architecture assurance and advice.
- Development of design patterns and standards.
- Creation and maintenance of reference architecture documentation.
- Other relevant duties as directed.
- Report to the Director, Enterprise Architecture.
- Work closely with the Enterprise ICT architect, Data architect, Infrastructure architect, Security architect, Solution architects, product engineering teams, and technology subject matter experts, in a collaborative, close-knit team, to develop current, interim, and target state architectures, roadmaps and plans
- Work closely with business stakeholders and engineering to align target state applications architecture with business objectives.
Criteria 1: Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining agency ICT strategy, architecture, and implementation roadmaps, to support major business transformation.
Criteria 2: Demonstrated experience translating strategy into agency ICT workplans and incorporating ICT operational and sustainment requirements.
Criteria 3: Demonstrated experience leading the development of high-level and detailed architecture, encompassing and integrating all ICT domains.
Criteria 4: Scans the internal and external environment to maintain contemporary ICT knowledge. Performs a full range of architectural functions, including practice improvements, architecture governance uplift, and the development of design patterns, standards.
Criteria 5: Forms highly collaborative relationships and communicates with influence, both within the immediate team and with a diverse range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, as well as senior management levels.
