Hotel Manager – Far North Queensland – Coastal Location

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Manager for this busy coastal venue located in the gulf of Queensland.

The successful candidates will have proven leadership skills in a similar role, preferably with remote location experience. This role requires a hands on manager, skilled in staff management and stock management, with strong knowledge of food & beverage & gaming operations.
If you love fishing, this is the ideal destination with local fishing and access to deep sea fishing charters. The sunsets are amazing with tropical weather all year round.

Salary Package:
  • $90,000 Salary + Super – Single Manager
  • Accommodation Provided
Duties:
  • Effectively management all aspects of the hotel in a hands-on capacity
  • Staff management-recruitment, rostering, training, WHS management and mentoring
  • Liaises with suppliers to ensure the Hotel is getting the right products at the right price
  • Provides advice on effective stock management levels to ensure appropriate stocking and turnover of goods
  • Provides directives on investigations of stock discrepancies and implements processes to minimise variances
  • Provides leadership to operational team members in Gaming Operations, ensuring adherence to policies for the provision of responsible gaming services
  • Provides industry advice on or supervises other hotels as requested from time to time.
  • Analyses and reports on key business metrics including gaming machine data, accommodation occupancy, margin performance, stock turn etc.
  • Working with key Hotel staff, approves and drives effective marketing campaigns utilising cross promotional opportunities where available
  • Actively networks amongst the community to encourage loyalty and understand customer/ community needs
  • Ensures the presentation of the Hotel is maintained in front and back of house areas including cleanliness and merchandise
  • Oversees and monitors key operational Hotel staff for the provision of:
    • The responsible service of alcohol
    • The responsible service of gaming
    • Preparation, service and handling of food
  • Provides leadership to key operational Hotel staff in relation to entertainment for the hotel, including live band bookings, noise control, WHS as related to entertainment, and managing the communication
Ideal Candidate:
  • Ability to lead a team of remote working staff
  • Must be willing to live and work in a remote destination
  • Have previous experience in a similar management position
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage, accommodation & gaming operations
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Able to undertake a Fit2Work clearance
  • Able to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Hold or be willing to obtain RMLV, Approved Managers & Gaming License
