About the Role
This role is a high-profile opportunity to take ownership of sales strategy and market expansion for battery energy storage and monitoring systems. The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, managing complex sales cycles, and securing high-value contracts across utilities, industrial operators, and energy developers.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for BESS and monitoring solutions.
  • Define go-to-market approaches that align with business growth objectives and market demand.
Market Expansion
  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities in commercial, industrial, and utility-scale energy markets.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, government agencies, and independent power producers.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to understand evolving energy storage needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights and value-driven solutions.
Tailored Solutions & Technical Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to design and deliver customised solutions.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, market conditions, and customer objectives.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities to refine sales strategies.
  • Provide insights to internal teams to shape product development and market positioning.
Bid & Contract Management
  • Lead the preparation of commercial proposals, tenders, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure financial and operational viability of deals while maintaining competitive positioning.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven success in sales leadership within the renewable energy, battery storage, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of BESS technology, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at C-level.
  • Experience managing long and complex sales cycles in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
