We are expanding our Tullamarine Headquarters and seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager with extensive freight forwarding experience, particularly in Ocean, Landside and Air Freight sales.

About the Role:

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for driving new business growth by selling KTL’s Import and Export solutions across Sea, Air, and Road Freight. You will be on the road, actively hunting for new business opportunities while nurturing strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.

To succeed in this role, you must proactively plan, target, and secure new business while managing the sales process from lead generation to order fulfillment and customer retention. We are looking for someone with a business-owner mindset—an entrepreneurial professional who thrives in a high-performance sales environment and is motivated by unlimited earning potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business growth through strategic planning and prospecting.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to maximise revenue and satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed targets.
  • Research and target new business opportunities using directories, referrals, and networking.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to stay ahead.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and needs analysis to tailor solutions for clients.
  • Represent KTL Australia at client meetings, industry events, and networking functions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in freight forwarding/logistics sales experience in the Australian market.
  • Strong business development and commercial acumen.
  • A hunter mentality—driven to win business based on service, not just price.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and influencing abilities.
  • Proven ability to create winning proposals and pricing strategies.
  • A deep understanding of freight forwarding services and competitive positioning.
