Organisation:Brightside Recruitment has partnered with a medium size organisation who provide a range of specialist services including community outreach, recreational and residential services, ensuring their participants receive the support they need to live independent and fulfilled lives.
Role:
Based in Newcastle, the Occupational Therapist will work amongst the Allied Health team, have sound knowledge of how the NDIS funding works and how to breakdown a plan.
This role will entail clinic-based and Community-based settings.
Daily tasks will include;
- Provide high quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention for clients.
- Develop intervention plans, including short and long term goals, in line with the client’s NDIS goals.
- Good communication, by ensuring integrated service delivery and follow ups, coordinating and communicating as required.
- Incorporate holistic approach to health care according to community and organisation priorities.
- Ensure all information are recorded accurately and in timely manner in the electronic health record system.
- Work closely with support coordinators and referring clinics to track the clients progress.
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current membership of the appropriate relevant professional body/organisation.
- Must have experience working within NDIS
- Awareness of the rights of people with a disability.
- Being flexible, adaptable and willingness to support participants.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office and computer literacy skills.
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screen Check.
