About The Role:

  • The Facilitator role serves as the ‘lead’ service person verifying tray accuracy and prompt delivery. The Facilitator must have a demonstrated familiarity with food operations and a working knowledge of patient diets.
  • This position is responsible to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary work environment.
  • This position functions as part of a team that ensures delivery of food to patients within 45 minutes of the order being placed.
  • The Facilitator will also be responsible for assigning the starter/mid facilitator to perform meal tray sweeps to pick up dirty patient tray trolleys from the soiled utility rooms on the floors as appropriate, during quieter periods.
  • The Facilitator acts a “team leader” because he/she regulates the flow of trays and the speed of the cooks’ side and to create a smoothly flowing workload balance.

About You:

  • Good understanding of Food safety and HACCP procedures.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work in a busy fast paced environment.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Good understanding of hospital operations.
  • Good communications skills, hard-working and a “can do” attitude.

About The Mater:

In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney.

  • One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals.
  • Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway.
  • The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres.
  • Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
