Pro-Rata Salary Range of $125k Base to 134k Base (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 11.5% Superannuation + Smart Salary Packaging Benefit

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dedicated team of Researchers and Project Operations to ensure studies and projects are delivered.

The Senior Project Manager will lead and manager a global stroke platform trial involving separate interventional trials. In partnership with UNSW Sydney, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India and Imperial College, London we are working on a global network undertaking clinical, population and health systems research.

The Senior Project Manager will foster and maintain effective professional relationships with all stakeholders and the reporting project teams, including investigators and collaborators. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for providing clear guidance to the project team on and monitoring of deliverables.

All project and trial activities must be conducted in accordance with project specific documentation, applicable SOPs, ICH GCP and applicable ethical and regulatory requirements.

In support of your application, we ask you address the following criteria in your cover letter:-

  • Project management experience in global drug intervention clinical trials : Please detail your strong background in managing complex projects from inception to completion in the global context.
  • Leadership experience: Proven experience in leading diverse teams with a track record of motivating and mentoring staff to achieve project goals
  • Critical thinking and problem solving: Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to problem solving in the face of uncertainty and a changing environment

Skills, Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful Candidate

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related science or healthcare discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex drug intervention clinical trials, preferably within an academic environment and in the global context.
  • Excellent knowledge of research and project management principles, ICH/GCP, ethical and regulatory requirements, and experience in managing NHMRC/MRFF budgets.
  • Knowledge/experience of ethical and regulatory requirements for / conducting clinical trials in countries other than Australia.
  • Proven project delivery and management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to guide and develop others.
  • Proactively identifies and resolve complex project related problems by applying innovative and critical thinking approaches.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to understand and manage priorities
  • Ability to work independently, as well as awareness of when to escalate issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to travel
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work for collaboration and contact with global teams based on requirements of the position

Desirable:

  • Experience working in stroke trials
