DescriptionDowner Rail & Transit Systems business has a wide portfolio of projects currently in delivery nationally. RTS leverages the in-house capabilities within Downer to offer integrated solutions covering rollingstock, infrastructure, rail systems, operations and maintenance, as well as system integration.
Downer provides asset management services to over 50% of the Sydney Suburban Rollingstock. We have a great opportunity to engage a Manufacturing Quality Control specialist to join our team. Youwill carry out Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection activities required for the Queensland Train Manufacturing Projects TTP Bogie manufacturer at MSDC and MU train manufacturing activities at Torbanlea Manufacturing Facility to support the delivery of Passenger Rolling Stock train sets.
About you:
Qualified to ISO 9712 Level 2 (or equivalent) for the following NDT Methods as a minimum:
- Magnetic Particle Testing
- Ultrasonic Testing
- Penetrant Testing
- Visual Inspection of Welds.
In addition, Weld Inspector and/or NACE Coating Inspection accreditation an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the NDT Industry.
- Previous demonstrated experience in rail bogie and carbody manufacture an advantage.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to read, interpret, understand the requirements of the relevant Weld/Fabrication/Manufacturing standards and codes.
- Knowledge of NDT and Destructive testing methods and their application to weld testing.
- Understanding of the following Standards and their application:
- ISO 17637 for Visual Inspection
- ISO 17640 for Ultrasonic testing
- ISO 17638 for Magnetic particle testing
- ISO 23277 for Penetrant testing
