Our National Immigration Support Service (NISS) offers comprehensive assistance to individuals seeking asylum and refugees residing within the Australian community.

About You
You are a seasoned professional with substantial experience in operational management and team leadership, ideally within the humanitarian sector. Your strategic planning skills, advocacy for CALD communities, and dedication to enhancing clients' settlement journeys are exemplary.
About the Role
The purpose of the Senior Case Manager NISS is to provide intensive case management support to complex asylum seekers (individuals & families) primarily within the Status Resolution Support Service program. This includes ensuring the delivery of quality evidence-based services and promoting respectful, purposeful casework. The incumbent offers guidance, support, mentoring and training to Case Coordinators and Cultural Support workers
This position is being offered as Permanent Full Time and can be based in Springwood or Milton with work from home flexibility.
Skills & Experience
- A recognised Degree qualification in Social Work, social sciences, psychology, nursing or mental health or a recognised diploma in a related field and working toward a degree qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in case plan outcomes with asylum seekers with complex needs including trauma, mental health, psychical health, child protection, family violence.
- Demonstrated experience in developing positive developmental relationship, building trust with NISS clients through active engagement and placing the best interest of the client at the centre of case planning.
- Demonstrated experience in working autonomously and implementing therapeutic case plans for multiple clients simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership/management, coaching, mentoring, and providing support and training to mangers and staff.
- Working knowledge of the relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility, including NISS program
- Demonstrated understanding of current case work practice for NISSS clients including trauma informed, therapeutic case plans and practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals, families and groups from a strength base and culturally appropriate framework.
- Proficient ability in using the Microsoft office suite of programs.
- Current Drivers Licence.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
