THE OPPORTUNITY

A short 30-minute drive from Brisbane, the School’s, heritage-listed campus is conveniently located in the middle of Ipswich. We offer the opportunities of a large city, with the more community feel of a smaller town.

We are looking for an energetic IT professional to support the ICT Manager in developing, managing, and maintaining the School's Information, Communication and Technology infrastructure to service the needs of the School's ICT's clients (i.e., students, staff, and the broader School community).

In this varied role, you will focus on,

  • Planning, developing, maintaining, managing, and administering the School's database management systems, operating systems and security policies and procedures to ensure optimal database and system integrity, security, backup, reliability, and performance.
  • Ensuring the design of the school’s technological environment to allow all components to work correctly and monitor and adjust the performance of the school’s network if required.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and leverage this knowledge to offer recommendations that ensure the ongoing security and stability of the school's infrastructure.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated and skilled IT professional, with the ability to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration or a closely related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience (ideally 2+ years) in a similar role with experience in a school environment being highly regarded but not essential
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of ICT hardware, software, and networks, including installation and configuration skills
  • Experience with Virtual Machines and Firewall appliances (Sophos) and experience with Office 365, Entra ID, Windows 11
  • Proactive, well organised, excellent time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and find solutions for unexpected situations, as well as anticipate problems that may arise in future.
  • High level oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate at all levels within the School.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to respond efficiently to competing demands.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia and be a holder of, or have the ability to obtain, a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card).
