What’s on offer?

Fulton Hogan’s Tasmanian team are going through a very exciting period of growth, no more so than the recently awarded Northeast Tasmania Road Maintenance contract on behalf of the Department of State Growth.

Fulton Hogan Are delivering a network wide maintenance contract of 1300km of State Roads Network, including a small number of unsealed roads in the North East corner of Tasmania. This includes:

• Reactive routine maintenance and rapid response including pothole repairs, roadside furniture reinstatement, and drain cleaning.
• Preventative pavement maintenance programs such as asphalt resurfacing and rehabilitation, and unsealed road and road shoulder grading.
• Amenity improvement programs including grass mowing, weed spraying, and street and footpath sweeping.

As a result, Fulton Hogan is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to be based out of our Launceston Depot who will be responsible for planning all aspects of upcoming works, with an overall aim of ensuring both client and community expectations are met.

Key responsibilities:

• Utilise asset management software to analyse asset condition data and assess maintenance work performance against agreed programs and defect intervention requirements, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure works are being conducted in accordance with safety, environmental, quality and community stakeholder management plans and raising concerns with the relevant stakeholders
• Understand and interpret contract clauses, pricing schedules and works activity specifications in order to achieve optimal and best-practice safety, financial and reputational outcomes for the business

How you’ll connect to the role?

• Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.)
• Experience using a computer-based Asset Management System or similar software/application
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role within a construction, infrastructure maintenance or similar sector with similar requirements

• An engineering, project management or similar qualification would complement the skills for this role well
• Possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
