Summary:
CYC Blue Lagoon is seeking a Casual Cook to prepare and serve meals for campers and staff. Some cooking experience is preferred, but formal training isn’t required. The role offers 1–3 shifts per week, with potential weekend work, and on-site housing is available.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook various meals, as per menu provided my catering coordinator.
- Monitor food quality and presentation.
- Ensure food service areas are clean, organised, and productive at all times.
- Assist in the development and creation of new menu items.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP..
- Consistently maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Work with kitchen leadership to maintain an efficient and productive kitchen.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience with basic knife skills, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment or willingness to leader.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards or willingness to leader.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
