ESTIMATOR required to join the AUSPAN team working in our Gnowangerup or Albany offices. This unique opportunity is open for a hardworking building professional looking to take the next step in their career.
About The Role
This role would suit an estimator or an administrator looking to start their career in estimating. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with management and showcase their ability to work accurately and efficiently. They will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a “CAN DO” attitude and be keen to tackle the challenges of working in a dynamic and fast-growing business.
The Main Responsibilities Would Include:
- Reading and interpreting preliminary design drawings to clarify project requirements.
- Design review and costing build-up for shed type projects
- Coordination and prioritisation of estimating tasks to support sales team as required.
- Costing build-ups completed using existing & repeatable sales process
- Liaising directly with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure their SOW is clear and understood.
- Checking supplier and subcontractor quotations for completeness and accuracy against their SOW and the project requirements and raise discrepancies or concerns with manager.
- Compiling project costs.
- Identifying project specific risks and discuss how those risks could be mitigated with manager, salesperson and project delivery team.
- Checking project cost for completeness and accuracy.
- Producing/exporting final PDF proposal documentation and sending to salesperson as per sales process requirements.
About You – Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate is someone who can bring the following to the role:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an estimator
- Experience Estimating “Design & Construct” building projects.
- Drafting, trade, or engineering type background (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to develop project specifications and scope of works documents.
- Reading and interpreting architectural, structural and services design drawings.
- Practical building and construction knowledge
- Hands-on approach with a can-do attitude.
- A consistent, detail oriented working style.
- A resourceful approach to trouble shooting and problem solving
- A positive, respectful attitude and a collaborative teamwork style
- Strong, motivated work ethic and an ability to work under pressure

AUSPAN Group is a WA family-owned D&C building company, with a successful track record of delivering buildings for agricultural, industrial, commercial & mining clients. This position will be based in our Gnowangerup office. We also have offices in Canning Vale, Albany, Toodyay and Geraldton.
The Minimum Requirements
- Ability to pass a functional pre-employ medical including drug and alcohol screen.
- Hold a current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
- Provide a National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months.
- Be health, safety and environmentally conscious
- Display a collaborative teamwork style with well-honed conflict resolution skills
- The ability to make practical decisions under pressure.
