CMR is proud to represent an NGO in seeking 2 dedicated Social Workers to join their Elder Care & Family Services team. These vital roles support remote Aboriginal communities, strengthening families and empowering Elders through access to essential services. Elder Care Social Worker

As an Elder Care Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting Aboriginal people aged 50+ by connecting them with aged care services. Based in Katherine, with regular travel to remote communities, you will :

• Work closely with Elder Care Connectors, health centre staff, and aged care providers to ensure seamless support.
• Help Elders and families navigate the aged care system, including MyAgedCare and assessment processes.
• Identify service gaps and contribute to strengthening aged care services in remote communities.
• Assist in recruiting and supporting Elder Care Connectors within each community.

Family Services Social Worker

The Family Services Social Worker will work with remote Aboriginal families to enhance the health, wellbeing, and safety of children. This role involves :

Building relationships with families and stakeholders to support positive parenting and child development. Providing essential social care outreach, including case management, crisis intervention, and financial counselling. Supporting family engagement with health and education services. Assisting families impacted by domestic, sexual, and family violence with safety planning and risk management. Connecting families with key support services, such as healthcare, welfare, and parenting programs.

About You

Qualified Social Workers with experience in aged care, family services, or community support. Strong relationship-building and communication skills. Experience working in remote Aboriginal communities and a commitment to cultural safety. Willingness to travel regularly to remote communities.
