Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdictions own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.
The Judicial Commission is an independent statutory corporation established under the Judicial Commission of Victoria Act 2016 to investigate complaints about the conduct or capacity of judicial officers or non-judicial VCAT members (Officer). The Commission provides an accessible and transparent complaint process which will ensure public confidence in the Victorian courts and VCAT is maintained.
About the role
The Judicial Commission of Victoria is seeking a suitably experienced self-starter to fulfil the role of Project and Operations Officer on a fixed term basis. This diverse and interesting role will provide project management expertise to the Commission while supporting strategic initiatives and activity across operations.
The role is a key operational position within the Judicial Commission of Victoria (the Commission). This Commission is an independent body established to investigate complaints about the conduct and capacity of judicial officers and non-judicial Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) members.
The role involves frequent liaison with senior managers and internal and external stakeholders, including CSV.
Key accountabilities include:
* Leading and delivering all aspects of assigned projects (ad-hoc and recurring), business and operational initiatives under limited direction, applying project management methodologies to manage budget, scope, schedule, project risks and communications.
* Monitoring & reporting on progress of assigned projects to ensure milestones are achieved in accordance with approved project plans. Undertake post implementation review and follow-up.
* Providing project management expertise to projects not directly led, as required. Supporting and contributing to other projects within the organisation, including in the legal and complaints team, advising on core project management principles and activities.
* Supporting the implementation of the Commissions communications and engagement strategy, working closely with external subject matter stakeholders, including leading the delivery of the Commission's annual report.
* High-level internal and external stakeholder engagement/management.
About You
* Proven experience leading projects, ensuring on time and on budget project delivery
* Project management qualifications are desirable, but not essential
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Proven stakeholder management experience
* Team player
* Critical thinker and problem solver
