About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Surveyor - Compliance to join our Development Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving customer enquiries and complaints related to building compliance matters. You will also assist the Senior Building Surveyor (Compliance) in processing Building Approval Certificates and Occupancy Permits for unauthorized building works.
Key Responsibilities
Provide accurate and detailed technical advice on building compliance matters. Investigate and report on breaches of the Building Act 2011, Building Regulations, Building Code of Australia, Local Laws, and Council Policies. Process statutory building applications for unauthorized works. Collect evidence, make reports, and attend court or appeal tribunals as required. Assist in training and monitoring compliance officers, students, trainees, and technical officers. Provide building compliance advice to management, the general public, and Council.About You

Tertiary qualifications in Building or a related discipline, or accreditation as Building Surveyor Practitioner Level 1 or Level 2. Registration as a Building Surveyor Practitioner in Western Australia. High level of knowledge and understanding of statutory Building Control in a Local Government environment.This permanent full-time position is a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $96,731 - $101,823 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
