Why This Role Matters
This position provides specialist expertise in Homelessness practice to improve service delivery across Australia.
It involves assisting in the development of national standards and quality frameworks, ensuring consistent, evidence-based service delivery, and supporting the implementation of the Homelessness Model of Care (MOC).
The role also includes creating materials to support best practices, coordinating Communities of Practice, and aiding service quality improvement and accreditation.
As a member of the Homelessness specialist team, the position contributes to national plans and frameworks, ensuring high-quality, client-centred service delivery with support from the Senior National Homelessness Specialist and National General Manager.
About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Homelessness Specialist for our Social Mission in a Full-time capacity. This position is based out of Blackburn
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award level 7
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of national and state strategic plans and frameworks to ensure evidence-based, quality service delivery.
- Assist State Managers with framework and model implementation and stay updated on sector trends.
- Coordinate Communities of Practice to share knowledge and expertise.
- Engage with stakeholders, plan events, develop publications, and maintain the internal information hub.
- Assist in implementing the Homelessness Model of Care and developing outcomes measurement frameworks.
- Provide expertise in tender writing and conduct quality improvement reviews.
- Develop policies and procedures across homelessness and related sectors (AOD, Youth, Family Violence).
- Support compliance, data analysis, and service provision.
- Stay informed of homelessness service accreditation and quality requirements.
- Develop and implement quality tools and support workforce commitment to service standards.
- Collaborate to meet accreditation requirements.
About You:
- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and relevant experience
- Post graduate qualification would be highly regarded
- Experience in social and community services programs including program management in Homelessness and community housing
- Experience in active membership in community or government bodies within the Homelessness sector
- Experience in translating high level strategy into practice at a service level
- A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
- A current and valid Working with Children’s Check
- A valid Victorian Driver's license.
