About the role
We are searching for an experienced and dynamic people leader to join our Senior Management Team as the South West Area Manager. This exciting role reports directly to the Director of Regional Delivery and is integral to driving impactful conservation initiatives in the South West area of Victoria, including the Wimmera and Glenelg- Hopkins catchments.
As Area Manager, you will lead and support the dedicated South West team in delivering Trust for Nature’s conservation programs and projects. Your leadership and change management skills will play a pivotal role in fostering a high-performing, collaborative team within an environment of growth and change.
You will leverage your strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills to build and nurture lasting relationships with both new and existing funding partners, identifying opportunities to secure funding and drive the expansion of our statewide conservation goals.

This role offers a full-time base salary range of $111,343 - $118,026 p.a., plus superannuation, the offer made will be commensurate with experience.
This is an ongoing full-time position, open to part time (minimum 4 days) with flexible work arrangements available. The role is based in Horsham office and requires travel throughout Victoria, therefore a valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle are required.

About you
We are searching for an experienced people leader who brings;
- A degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years+ of experience working in the environmental sector with a strong understanding of conservation principles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- Experience managing projects, including scoping, grant writing, negotiation, planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- knowledge of financial and resource management principles and the ability to track budgets.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic projects aligned with core business.
- Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading a team of people to work safely and in line with an organisation’s OHS system.
- IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, and GIS Software.
