Southern NSW Local Health District covers a large area of the southern half of NSW. Surrounding the ACT on three sides and all the way down to the Victorian border, it extends from the pristine beaches of the NSW South Coast, the farmlands of the Southern Tablelands, across the picturesque Great Dividing Range and the spectacular Snowy Mountains. What You'll Be Doing:

The Security Manager is responsible for the provision of security services for SNSWLHD. The position will implement appropriate management frameworks, tools and governance and compliance systems to improve the security and safety of the Local Health District’s patients, staff, clinical operations, assets and infrastructure.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Proven success in development and implementation of security mitigation strategies and plans ensuring budget, compliance and performance targets are met.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills necessary to build constructive collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive organisational change in service practices whilst improving focus on customer service to achieve required service outcomes and the ability to motivate and work as part of a team with a commitment to delivering a quality service.
  • Evidence of effective organisational and time management skills when working in a high pressure environment with periods of heavy workload; with the ability to successfully manage workflow and competing demands to deliver client-focused outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply legislation and NSW Health security policy, and prepare local security policy and procedure, with attention to detail to facilitate decision making.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills to collaborate with clinical and corporate staff, team members, patients and the community to achieve high levels of safety and security across health services.
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted driver’s licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays. Current 2A Security Licence (desirable).
