Our NDIS Contractor Cleaner is is responsible for providing cleaning services to our participants in a way that supports their individual needs and promotes a safe, healthy living environment. This is a contractor role that will work at our client sites in northern and south east suburbs.
Requirements
What you'll be doing:
- Cleaning and tidying living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
- Washing, drying, and folding clothes, and assisting with organizing clothing if needed
- Washing dishes, cleaning kitchen surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining areas
- Cleaning areas like the bathroom, ensuring accessibility and safety, particularly for individuals with mobility issues
- Regular dusting and vacuuming of floors, carpets, and other surfaces, taking care to avoid any tripping hazards
- Helping to organise personal items, cleaning up clutter, and maintaining a tidy home environment
- Emptying garbage bins, sorting recycling, and ensuring waste is disposed of properly
- Addressing specific needs or requests from the client, such as assisting with rearranging furniture to make the home more accessible or comfortable
- Using cleaning equipment safely and ensuring tools and supplies are stored properly
- Identifying any hazards or risks in the home environment (e.g., wet floors, tripping hazards) and mitigating them
- Previous experience in cleaning, particularly in environments requiring attention to detail, hygiene, and safety
- Experience working in NDIS
- Understanding or willingness to learn about the National Disability Insurance Scheme and how it affects care services, especially in a domestic setting
- Good communication skills to understand clients' preferences, needs, and any special requirements
- The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and moving furniture if necessary
- As you'll be working closely in clients' homes, reliability and trustworthiness are essential traits
- Familiarity with various cleaning tools, products, and methods that are effective for different tasks and surfaces.
