The Position:

A full-time opportunity is available with Sunrise Herb Farms in the Kingaroy area to assist with the maintenance and operation of a Duboisia leaf drying plant and control room in the production of dried Duboisia leaf for export.

During the off-season, or as demand requires, other field tasks associated with Duboisia leaf production may also be required.

The Benefits:

• An above Award full-time pay rate of $38 per hour will apply.
• A Monday to Friday 38-hour week. Seasonal demands may require a level of flexibility for a change to morning or afternoon shifts at times.
• Overtime available depending on seasonal demands.
• Handy South Burnett location just a 15-minute drive North of Kingaroy.

The Duties:

Duties of the role will include:

• Operation of the electronic control room, drying plant and shed functions to prepare dry Duboisia leaf for export.
• Planning and execution of maintenance and repairs to the leaf drying plant and equipment.
• Operation of Bobcat and Forklift.
• Assisting with other general farm or machinery maintenance as required.
• Operation of tractor and other farm equipment to assist with field farm production depending on seasonal demands.
• Compliance with all workplace safe work practices.

The Requirements:

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

• A proven commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and the wearing of PPE.
• Maintenance planning experience for an Alvan Blanch Duboisia Dryer.
• Operational and maintenance experience for an Alvan Blanch Duboisia Dryer and associated control room.
• Bobcat and Forklift competencies with relevant experience.
• A strong work ethic with the ability to work unsupervised.
• Flexibility in the delivery of hours to accommodate seasonal and weather variations.
• The ability to vary duties to meet ever changing market and seasonal demands.
• The ability to closely follow established processes.
• A strong team orientation.
• The willingness to complete random drug and alcohol testing if requested.

Although not essential, preference will be shown to those applicants also able to demonstrate:

• A rural or agriculture background.
• Experience in the operation of farm machinery and equipment.
• HR Driver licence.
• A mechanical background.
• Basic welding skills.

Pre-employment Assessments:
