Our restaurant is dedicated to offering freshly prepared, flavourful meals made with the finest ingredients in a welcoming environment.
We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our talented kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Indian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. You will contribute to creating delicious meals that ensure a memorable dining experience for our customers.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality Indian dishes, with a focus on traditional biryani, ensuring consistency in flavour, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to develop and refine seasonal menus that showcase authentic Indian cuisine, aligning with customer preferences.
- Oversee a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes meet quality standards and are presented to the highest level.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, consistency, and attention to detail in every aspect of kitchen operations.
- Monitor and accommodate dietary requirements, ensuring meals are prepared to meet the needs of a diverse clientele.
- Manage food inventory and supplies within your section, ensuring cost-effectiveness, minimal waste, and optimal stock levels.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and occupational health regulations, always maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Ensure that kitchen equipment is well-maintained and kept in excellent working condition to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Work closely with the team to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently, delivering high-quality meals even in a fast-paced environment.
- Adapt quickly to changes in customer demands, ensuring timely and effective meal preparation, especially during peak hours.
- Stay informed about culinary trends, exploring new techniques and fresh ideas to continuously enhance the menu and customer dining experience.
- Relevant qualification.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a Chef
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Creativity in food preparation and presentation, with an eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities under pressure.
- Leadership skills to mentor and inspire a diverse team.
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
