What You'll Do:
Garden Maintenance
- Provide both reactive and programmed garden maintenance for our Centres and other facilities.
- Maintain indoor plants, outdoor play areas, nature strips, and garden beds to the highest standards.
- Mow lawns, trim edges, and encourage healthy grass growth.
- Plant, transplant, and nurture a variety of flowers, shrubs, and trees, ensuring compliance with environmental guidelines.
- Prune, trim, and monitor plants for pests and diseases.
- Apply mulch, fertilizers, and other treatments to ensure plants thrive.
- Maintain clean, tidy outdoor spaces free from debris, leaves, and litter.
- Assist other team members with maintenance tasks and specialized repairs.
- Keep accurate records of all gardening work and plant care.
- Report issues to the supervisor or maintenance manager to ensure a quick response.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Keep tools and equipment in top shape and ensure safety when using them.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, stocked with everything you need.
- Ensure all tools are accounted for and well-maintained.
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal education in horticulture or landscape management preferred.
- 2-5 years of hands-on gardening/landscaping experience.
- Safety certifications
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of plant care, soil management, watering techniques, and pest control.
- Proficient in pruning, cutting, and landscaping design.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions.
- Passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces and improving the environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in landscape aesthetics.
- Driver's license required for travel between locations.
- Problem-solving skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet KPIs effectively.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Outdoor Work: The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, sun).
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 20kg and work on your feet for long periods.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to travel and work non-standard hours, including early mornings, weekends, or overtime during peak seasons.
