About the RoleTo thrive in this position, you should be a proactive problem-solver who can independently tackle the challenges that come your way. Your ability to break down complex issues, craft effective solutions, and maintain clear communication with our team will be critical. You will be working on projects across our server/database as well as client apps (but with a big focus on server performance).
Some of your (very fun and exciting!) projects may involve: leading and executing ReciMe’s language localization implementation, building ReciMe’s shoppable grocery list, and integrating in with supermarkets APIs.You will report directly to the Christine (CEO & Product Manager) and Nic (CTO) to build and ship critical features as quickly as possible.

What you’ll doWorking with our CTO Nic and co-founder Christine, you will be in charge of building critical new features including: language localization, shoppable grocery list, integrating with supermarket APIs etcContinuously research, evaluate and implement new technologies, including the use of generative AIContinuously improve, debug and resolve existing issues with our importing feature
We are looking for someone who:Holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in Java using the Spring framework or equivalent.Experience with LLMs or NLP frameworks to implement solutionsExperience in cloud computing, designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks (e.g. Bitbucket Pipelines, Terraform).Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).Experience with implementing features for iOS (e.g., Swift and Swift UI).Experience with implementing features for Web (e.g., Next.js and TypeScript).Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to server-side services.Experience with third-party libraries and APIs (e.g. Firebase etc).Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs using Postman.Experience with Git and agile development methodologies.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.Has a passion and interest in cooking.Bonus: Any prior startup experience or willingness to take on ownership and wear many hats in a startup.
