The Opportunity
The Industry and Government Engagement Officer is part of the Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) Response Program (the Program) within the Biosecurity Division of PIRSA. The primary purpose of the role is to foster relationships between PIRSA and external industry stakeholders, enhancing collaboration, supporting the exchange of information, and promoting initiatives that support the community and the wider industry.
The role contributes to delivering the agency's priorities by managing the Industry and Government Engagement function to gather, assemble and disseminate timely, tailored and relevant information and supports to stakeholders. The Industry and Government Engagement function will manage all stakeholders with a high level of empathy, tact, transparency, integrity and credibility.
The role contributes to delivering to the goals and objectives of the Program by being the point of contact with producers and is responsible for obtaining and disseminating technical, operational and scientific advice, and other support as required.

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
- Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- Opportunity up to February 2026
- Full time opportunity, 37.5 hours per week
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.

Qualifications
Essential: Nil.
Desirable: IAP2 Certificate in Engagement, and/or a tertiary qualification in Communications or a related field, or experience in a similar role is preferred.
Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 min - $104,165 max per annum
