The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced recruitment professional with exceptional customer service, communication, and leadership skills to work in partnership with leaders across SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) to build capability and drive contemporary, evidence-based hiring practices, ensuring our state's emergency health responder service attracts and retains top talent aligned with our values.

This role has both strategic and operational components. The successful incumbent will participate directly in selection processes to support and upskill hiring managers, whilst also contributing at a strategic level through the design of contemporary selection practices and workforce planning efforts.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Leading a small team to deliver large-scale, campaign-based recruitment processes, in line with organisational needs;
  • Providing formal training and informal coaching and education to hiring managers to ensure effective, evidence-based hiring practices that reflect the merit-based recruitment principles and reflect inclusive recruitment practices;
  • Leveraging technology to drive efficiencies in recruitment and onboarding processes, optimising the candidate experience;
  • Contributing to workforce planning and strategic talent management strategies to ensure future talent needs are met; and
  • Providing timely, high level advice to senior leaders on SA government hiring practices.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have an extensive background in recruitment, preferably within a large complex organisation. We are open to applications from candidates who are looking for their first step up into leadership, or those with demonstrated leadership experience.

Other key requirements include:

  • Extensive experience in end-to-end recruitment within a large, complex organisation, including some experience or exposure to large-scale and campaign-based hiring;
  • Strong knowledge of merit-based selection principles and contemporary, evidence-based recruitment practices;
  • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to drive recruitment excellence and optimise processes;
  • Experience and confidence in developing and delivering training to small and large groups;
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and partner with hiring managers and senior leaders;
  • A track record of evaluating and improving recruitment processes, with expertise in change management to enhance efficiency and the candidate experience; and
  • A strong understanding of inclusive recruitment practices and a commitment to supporting diversity and equity in hiring.
  • Recruitment experience within a health care or service delivery setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
