About the role
As a Support Worker in our team, you will be supported to work beside individuals to build their capacity with daily living skills, assisting with social and recreational activities, implementing and monitoring practices that will promote a healthier lifestyle and empower participants to help them achieve their goals.
The role will involve working with a participant including recoveries and complex needs. This participant may need assistance with medication administration and may show complex behaviors. Experience and professionalism are highly Regarded.
You will be required to work in the participant's home, or in the community wherever the need is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support to clients with complex and/or challenging needs
- Work with complex participant with Positive behavior support plans (PBSP)
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with the participant, their families, friends and care team to achieve positive outcomes
- Be a mentor and encourage individuals to learn and undertake daily living tasks
- Provide personal care and assistance with personal and domestic activities
- Monitoring the well-being of clients and reporting on their progress
Essential Criteria:
- Male only
- Must be flexible to work across a roster with weekday daytime, inactive sleepover shifts, and weekend shift included.
- Minimum 4 years' experience with Complex behaviors / needs
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disabilities or similar
- Right to Work in Australia
- Unrestricted Driver's license
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Completion NDIS Worker Orientation
- already poses or willing to obtain receive training in Prevention of Infection Control, Food and Safety and Medication Management
- Working with children's / OCRE card required
- NT NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
- Criminal History Check
