The role
As the Principal Project Officer you will support the Statistical Analysis and Linkage Unit in undertaking projects to enable increased access to and use of linked data in Queensland Health and to support Queensland Health's ongoing participation in national data linkage initiatives that involve sharing and linking data across Queensland and Commonwealth government services. Reporting to the Manager, Data Access, Governance and Partnerships, you will lead and manage data linkage projects to enable the Statistical Analysis and Linkage Unit to plan and prioritise linkage initiatives, negotiate and put in place legal and governance processes and documentation required for data sharing.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- Highly effective interpersonal and high-level strategic written communication skills, including proven ability to engage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders and cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
- Record of accomplishment of leading projects / initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare service delivery.
- Advanced project management skills, including the ability to establish robust project governance structures, define tasks, set priorities and coordinate activities effectively to meet deadlines, with a record of accomplishment of proven and sustained outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in a data-related field, including understanding of data access governance and data linkage.

Statistical Analysis and Linkage (SALU) is one of four units in the Statistical Services Branch and provides a range of services including statistical analysis, project linkage and routine linkage of several major health-related data collections to support health services planning, research into diseases, monitoring standards of care, and national reporting requirements.
