The Opportunity

The Graphic Artist is responsible for designing high-quality program graphics and animations for Seven’s 6PM News across local markets in NSW, Victoria, and WA.

Based in Canberra, you will work closely with Journalists, Producers, and Production teams to bring news stories to life through compelling visuals. Reporting to the Studio Team Leader in Canberra, your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Designing and executing high-quality graphics for news, weather, and promos.
  • Collaborating with journalists and producers to create engaging visual content.
  • Ensuring all on-air graphics meet industry standards and brand guidelines.
  • Maintaining an efficient graphics library and keeping up with the latest design trends.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving to ensure timely delivery of graphics.

About You

You’re a detail-oriented, creative, and proactive Graphic Artist with a passion for visual storytelling. You have a dynamic work ethic and a drive to continuously improve and innovate. As an adaptable individual, you thrive in a team environment but can also work well independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines, whilst always taking pride in maintaining top-quality output.

You will have:

  • 1-3 years professional experience in graphic design
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator and a basic understanding of Final Cut Pro.
  • A degree, diploma or similar qualification in graphic design
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment (TV/ broadcast media experience is a plus, but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Producers, Directors, and Reporters.
