Position InformationWoolgoolga High School is located 25km north of Coffs Harbour and is part of the Northern Beaches Community of Schools. The school is home to students from varied backgrounds including a large Sikh community. Woolgoolga High School has quality facilities and is located in a natural bushland and coastal environment. The current enrolment is approximately 860 students, including 120 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The school is situated on the traditional lands of the Gumbaynggirr people whose language is part of the school curriculum. Woolgoolga High School prides itself on its integration of technology in the curriculum and is a school where students are treated with respect and as individuals. An exemplary student wellbeing system is in place and is supported by various community outreach programs. Learning is our priority with a focus on literacy, numeracy, Aboriginal education, and maximising student engagement.
Selection Criteria Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education and Dance. Create and implement dynamic and engaging Personal Development, Health and Physical Education including Health and Movement Science programs that will result in student growth across a range of abilities and cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated capacity to build and develop curricula and extra-curricula dance and sporting programs. Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to build strong positive relationships with students and the school community.
Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
