Bligh Park Public School is an NSW Department of Education (DoE) primary school situated on the land of the Darug People. The school is part of the South Creek Principal Network in the Metropolitan North Operational Directorate. Bligh Park Public School has 20 teaching staff and an enrolment of 286 students, 53 of whom identify as Aboriginal. There are 10 mainstream classes and 7 support classes. The school is supported by the P&C and enjoys strong partnerships with the community. Bligh Park Public School provides opportunities in the performing arts and has a proud sporting history. The school promotes lifelong learning, and students are taught to be safe, respectful and responsible.

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching:

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with disabilities, including students with intellectual disabilities, students with autism and emotional disturbance.

Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that maximise student engagement, with a strong focus on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for all students.

Experience dealing with multiple and complex challenging behaviours and the ability to support and lead staff to plan for and manage these behaviours.

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity to work as an effective member of collaborative school teams building inclusive, trusting relationships with students, parents, staff, external agencies and the wider community.

Strong organisational and administrative skills and demonstrated ability to balance classroom teaching with the demands of an executive role.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
