Position Information

Liverpool Public School was established in 1863. The school is situated in the Liverpool central business district and serves an area rich in cultural and linguistic diversity. The school currently supports the learning of 630 students. Currently 90% of the school population require English as an Additional Language or Dialect support. The school is proud of its varied multicultural population, with 67 cultural backgrounds represented. Approximately 20% of our total student enrolment is made up of people who have been impacted by the refugee experience. 1% of the student population identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders. At Liverpool Public School staff are committed to the provision of differentiated, evidenced based teaching, and learning practices that ensures success for all learners. Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Library K-6 or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Library qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
  2. Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage a primary school library using the Oliver Library Management System, including oversight of budgeting, technology and resource management.
  3. Proven ability to lead a dynamic, student centred library environment and to design innovative lessons to foster critical and creative thinking, digital literacy and a love of literature.
  4. Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills to build authentic, positive relationships with the whole school community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.


Special Notes

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
