We have multiple Derrickman positions available to join our teamwho areideally located in Brisbane or Queensland and willing to travel to support our growing operations in Australia.
As a Derrickman , you will:
- Operate and control drilling equipment, including mud tanks, pumps, and drilling fluid systems.
- Assist in the raising and lowering of drill pipes, drill collars, and other equipment during the drilling process.
- Follow strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the drilling crew, the integrity of equipment, and the overall safety of the drilling operation.
- Monitor and manage drilling fluids (mud) to maintain proper viscosity and lubrication for efficient drilling.
- Conduct routine maintenance on drilling equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order.
- Maintain clear communication with other members of the drilling crew, including the driller, rig manager, and other team members, to ensure smooth drilling operations.
- Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, including well control incidents or equipment failures.
About You
A successful candidate must have the following experience and qualifications:
- Minimum three years’ hands on experience in drilling operations
- Comprehensive understanding of drilling equipment, mud tanks, mud pumps and drilling fluid systems
- Sound knowledge of drilling processes with a focus on tripping operations, mud management and equipment maintenance
- Valid Driver's License
- First Aid
- Perform CPR
- Confined Space Entry with BA
- Fire Extinguisher
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- Working at Heights
- 4WD Skill Set
- Wellsite Permit to Work Holder
- Confined Space Rescue
- Working Safely at Heights Rescue
- ISI Training or RPL
- Operate a Front End Loader
- HC, MC license (highly desirable)
- Rigging/dogging (highly desirable)
We are looking for a safety orientated but enthusiastic self-starter, with a can-do attitude, and someone who is a great team player. You should also have good problem solving and communication skills, thrive on accountability, be resilient and have a high drive to succeed.
