Description:
The National Retail Association are seeking an Engagement Program Coordinator to join our Policy team, with a current focus on Sustainability projects and programs.
Our Policy team is a small but dedicated and ambitious team, working on a wide array of topics impacting retail businesses, including sustainability, crime, health and wellbeing, domestic violence, product safety and many more.
In this role you will assist with end-to-end delivery of projects which seek to engage, educate and support businesses through significant changes in laws and developments. We work with local, state and federal government and a broad range of supporting stakeholders. We engage all types of businesses from small family-run outlets to national chains and suppliers.
Our programs include: strategic planning, research, schedule management, client relations, team coordination, direct business engagement, meetings, communications and content creation, data analysis and reporting, submission writing, as well as marketing or consumer awareness campaigns.
Please note that our programs are business engagement and education projects, not IT or construction.

Your new role
• Assist Policy Manager to deliver engagement projects to customer satisfaction, on schedule, to budget and to a high quality.
• Contribute to strategic planning, budgets, implementation and reporting.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
• Dynamically respond to project or client needs, risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate team members within the project team and shared services.
• Coordinate overlapping engagement strategies and schedules.
• Assist with the development of communications, content and materials.
• Assist with business advice channels such as hotlines, email and online webinars.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as meeting coordination and preparing reports.
• Provide regular updates to the senior Policy team.
• Assist with tenders and delivery of future projects.
Your skills and experience
• Excellent client and team coordination skills, including working with virtual/remote teams.
• Excellent multi-tasking and organisational ability, especially working across simultaneous projects.
• Ability to understand and communicate to different audiences.
• Practical, hands-on approach.
• Sense of urgency and problem-solving skills to deliver outcomes.
• Ability to learn quickly to be able to effectively converse in relevant industry topics.
• Good skills in Microsoft Office suite and cloud-based file management.
• Experience using communications / design platforms is advantageous.
We are open to a broad range of applicants with engagement program experience, such as government or community engagement programs, business education projects, or marketing / account management.
The ideal candidate will be seeking a role with autonomy, variety and responsibility, delivering engagement projects and programs which have tangible positive impacts on our industry and environment.
Role is based in Brisbane at our Spring Hill office with some work-from-home days. Interstate travel will be required when needed to support team and client relations.
