Job DescriptionAbout the opportunity
As the Principal Planner in our Brisbane office, you'll take charge of key projects and build strong relationships at a business level. With the opportunity to unlock new growth avenues and provide expert advice, you will shape both the future of the Town Planning team and Spiire’s presence in Brisbane. Reporting to the Business Manager, this role will provide you the opportunity to:

Lead and manage planning projects of various sizes and budgets, liaising and negotiating with local councils and authorities to achieve successful outcomes for the client

Identify and pursue new business opportunities while promoting Spiire’s diverse service offerings

Mentor, train, develop and inspire the next generation of planners, nurturing their professional development

Managing invoicing, planning, tracking project health and mitigating potential issues

Maintain and grow existing key client relationships

Provide expert technical advice while overseeing project management, finances, and client relations

Connect and share knowledge with our team of Planners across other geographies
About You
You are a highly regarded Town Planner with extensive experience and a strong network in Brisbane. You are driven by a passion for creating better communities and thrive in leadership roles. Your skills and experience include:

Deep knowledge of Queensland’s planning landscape, including relevant regulations and planning standards

The ability to communicate effectively with our clients and contractors to achieve great results within a complex project environment

Demonstrated success in a leadership capacity in a planning or multidisciplinary consultancy

Actively involved in the local planning industry; you are well connected to your peers

Proven ability to negotiate complex projects and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes

Expertise in statutory planning, including large-scale greenfield projects

Well versed in commercial management across people, projects, finances, client relations, and contracts

A passion for coaching and mentoring; you value a culture of constructive feedback and take a consultative approach
