We are seeking a Data Visualisation Analyst to help realise Sarah Group’s business intelligence capability to generate knowledge and insights from the data lake and its models. You will work closely with the Technology team, as well as key stakeholders such as Business Sponsors and Data Custodians across the business.
The role
Reporting to the Data Lead as part of the wider Technology team, this role will have responsibility for the following:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to maintain data integrity for Power BI reports generated from the Data Lake.
- Collaborating with business users and the Technology team to gather reporting requirements.
- Presenting findings and insights in a clear and engaging manner through visuals, design, and reports.
- Building interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable way.
- Translating complex data into narratives that provide improvement recommendations for senior management.
- Working with the Data Lead and Senior Solutions Analyst to ensure the Data Lake data is cleansed ensuring accuracy and consistency for reporting.
- Writing and optimising Data Analysis Expressions formulae for measures and KPI’s.
- Developing custom visuals to meet specific needs if not covered by Power BI visuals.
- Providing training and operational support to end users to assist them to understand how to interact and interpret reports and dashboards.
- Developing documentation outlining key capabilities for each report.
- Ensuring all sensitive data is protected, and the Security Matrix and data access policies within Power BI are updated for all reports and dashboards.

About you!
You will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Advanced knowledge in Power BI Desktop and Service.
- Knowledge of how and when to incorporate custom visuals for specific reporting needs.
- Ability to create visually appealing and easy to understand reports.
- Understanding of dimensional modelling and Power BI Semantic Model creation.
- Experience with various calculations and custom formatting using Data Analysis Expressions.
- Demonstrated understanding of Power BI’s security features.
- Ability to troubleshoot Power BI related issues.
- Experience in identifying and resolving issues related to data integrity, report inconsistencies, or Power BI configurations.
- Understanding of how to integrate Power BI with Power Automate for automated workflows (desirable).
- Knowledge of integrating Power BI with Power Apps for building custom applications or forms that interact with the reports (desirable).
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
- Good communication skills.
- Good time management.
