  • Multiple part-time Communications and Media internships for the 'See Your Path' program
  • 'See Your Path' program is designed for young people aged 18-25 years
  • Positions can be based in one of the following AMES locations: Melbourne CBD, Adelaide CBD or Blacktown (NSW)
  • Positions are being offered on a part time (2-3 days a week) maximum term basis to 27 June 2025
  • Annual full-time equivalent salary of $53,771 + 11.5% super will be prorated
  • Help to amplify the voice of multicultural and refugee young people in the Australian media

About the role

We are currently seeking applications for Communications and Media intern positions. If successful, you will be responsible for assisting with internal and external marketing and communications content through various mediums, while also building your skills in the Marketing and Communications area. This internship will include working alongside our journalist to write articles for AMES Australia's web publication, meeting with employers from the publishing, digital media and communications industry and working alongside our Marketing and Digital Engagement teams.

To be considered for these positions, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • A diploma or overseas equivalent qualification of Digital Media or Communication (or similar field)
  • Written and spoken proficiency in language(s) other than English, in addition to English language skills, is preferred
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information in a logical manner for a diverse audience
  • Tertiary level understanding of the application of key marketing principles such as social media and traditional marketing, EDM, SEO and brand voice
  • Active knowledge of a range of current social media and communication platforms
  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders to understand their requirements
  • Strong computer skills including common graphic design, video editing and web publishing packages , MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Positive attitude toward work and the ability to provide a high level of customer service for the Unit
