The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team, located at our manufacturing site in Osborne Park, WA. The position provides general operational HR support to the site, in areas such as safety, recruitment & induction, training, culture & engagement, injury management, return to work programs and practices as well as general operational HR deliverables. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide advice, information, and guidance to Managers to ensure they understand all company people policy requirements including recruitment and selection, performance management, employment conditions, staff training and development.
- Providing HR and IR/ER expertise to managers and supervisors on matters relating to interpretation of Enterprise Agreement and Fair Work legislation, in the management of disputes, grievances, complaints, and workplace investigations.
- Manage the review, implementation and communication of new and existing HR policies and procedures.
- Support and provide guidance regarding injury management and return to work processes.
- Coordination and administration of various HR activities (such as recruitment, training, engagement surveys, employee grievances, investigations).
- Coaching and development of Managers and Supervisors to enable them to effectively lead their teams.
- Actively encourage employee engagement and assist Managers in identifying employee development, skills and training requirements on an ongoing basis and facilitate the development and training process.
- Assist and support specific HR projects as agreed with the Human Resources Manager and provide formalised project reports and updates as required.
- Work with production & maintenance departments to ensure equal and fair rostering practices are adhered to, and that hours of work are no excessive, providing solution and guidance where required.
- Work with production and maintenance on matters relating to rostering, changes of conditions of employment and the creation of contracts.
- Support the HRM in the implementation of the HRIS and support with regular HR Audits.
- Contributes to the development of tools to support managers including forms, templates and guides, and for disseminating information to staff and managers in their use.
- Other ad hoc duties as per directed.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in site and operational HR functions, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will have the ability to build strong working relationships and display a consultative and collaborative working style.
- Previous experience in the same and or similar role in an FMCG environment.
- Expertise in handling workplace disputes & complaints, mediating conflicts, workplace investigations, and ensuring compliance with Australian workplace laws and the Fair Work Act.
- In-depth knowledge of performance review processes, goal setting, and coaching leaders to manage performance. Be able to assist and also address underperformance.
- Experience aligning HR practices with the overall business strategy.
- Ability to provide strategic advice to leadership teams and develop HR plans that support organizational growth.
- Strong communication and advisory skills to guide decision-making and drive HR initiatives across the business.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels including those from a non-speaking English background.
- Dynamic and energetic, with proven experience in working in a fast-paced working environment.
