The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing medium vehicles such as cars and vans and will also need to attend to vehicle breakdown service calls and provide on-site assistance when required. Ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Task & ResponsibilitiesYou will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Detect and diagnose faults in engines, parts, and various vehicle systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilise diagnostic tools, including computer systems, to identify issues accurately.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components.
- Inspect parts for wear, damage, or defects, ensuring all parts meet safety and performance standards.
- Reassemble mechanical components in compliance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to maintain vehicle performance.
- Reassemble engines and parts after repairs, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and functional.
- Test mechanical parts after repairs to verify proper performance and functionality.
- Use diagnostic tools, including computer-based systems, to assess the condition of vehicle parts.
- Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a relevant Certificate IV or equivalent in substantial experience (a Cert III and 2 years of experience will suffice, or 3 years of experience for those without a qualification).
Experience Requirement:
- At least 1 year of experience as a motor mechanic.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
- Demonstrated light vehicle repair, service and maintenance skills including a solid understanding of petrol, engines, suspension, transmission, steering and braking systems
- Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicles service manuals
- Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines are met
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical mechanical issues to a broad audience.
