About the Role

Our Tech Hub team is expanding and we’re looking for a Technology Controls & Assurance Director to join our vast community of solvers. The Tech Hub team brings our purpose to life by enabling our company’s businesses to achieve their technology-driven goals. The work undertaken in Tech Hub covers a range of areas from leading and supporting the company through to the build or adoption of new technology, to protecting against risk, and delivering valuable data insights that transform our technology capabilities.

Technology Governance & Risk Management involves running and establishing frameworks, policies and procedures to manage technology risks and issues to ensure compliance with obligations and regulatory requirements.

As a Technology Controls & Assurance Director you will be responsible for working within the business to ensure that technology, security and data controls are documented, assessed, and managed effectively across the firm. You will build strong relationships throughout the business which will enable you to successfully lead and oversee the execution of control testing and reporting ensuring control weaknesses, risks and issues are managed in accordance to the firm's risk appetite.

You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:

  • Demonstrating extensive experience in risk management and IT governance.

  • Providing expertise in IT risk, governance and control frameworks.

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrating effective and meaningful reporting skills.

  • Comprehensive understanding of internal audit and risk assessment processes.

  • Providing professional experience who can inspire and drive direction vertically and

  • horizontally leveraging your technical knowledge

  • Solving complex firm / global problems sometimes with little/no guidance or precedence.

  • Providing strategic direction as a seasoned Team Leader who is responsible for leading and delivering results

  • Inspiring and driving others (horizontally and vertically) to support long term strategic objectives at a Firm/Business level.

  • Leading programs of work with firmwide impact.

  • Providing guidance and direction vertically and horizontally leveraging their technical knowledge and experience as professional consider long term direction (3+ years) of your area of responsibility and the

  • impact of decisions made.

  • Handling Typical team size of 10-30+ people.

  • Providing Direct contributes to medium term (

  • Making an impact through leading programs of work with broad impact across LoS and firmwide.

In our Tech Hub team, your impact will be seen by:

  • Leading the development of the Technology Controls and Assurance function

  • Leading the development, documentation, approval, implementation and testing of the firms Technology, Security and Data Controls

  • Ensuring controls and testing practices and procedures are implemented and conducted in accordance with the Controls Assurance Framework

  • Leading the evaluation of design and operational effectiveness of internal controls

  • Working with control owners to Identify & raise gaps \

  • Recommending improvements to strengthen the control environment

  • Escalating and reporting on risks, control weaknesses, incidents and issues that remain unmitigated or outside of risk appetite.

  • Leading the Quality Management for Service Excellence Assurance (Objective 11 Technological Resources’) which supports from a technological risk and IT controls operation perspective. This includes:

    • Identification of QSME systems and tools including the associated infrastructure

    • Understanding and evaluation of IT control design effectiveness

    • Understanding and evaluation of IT controls operating effectiveness

    • Escalate / Resolve risk matters to Tech Hub Leadership.
