Are you passionate about fostering integrity, preventing corruption, and building a culture of accountability? We are looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to join our Investigations and Corruption Prevention team within the Department of Customer Service (DCS). In this role you will play a key part in developing and delivering educational seminars and training programs to raise awareness about fraud and corruption prevention, conflicts of interest, gift and benefits, just to name a few. You will engage with employees, management and our own quality assurance team to identify educational needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across DCS. Additionally, your role will involve setting our investigations up for success and supporting the gathering of evidence as well support in maintenance of fraud and corruption prevention strategies.

Your work will help empower DCS to uphold the highest standards of integrity and governance by preventing fraud and corruption before it starts. You will collaborate with investigators and the QA team to develop robust strategies and solutions that create lasting positive change.

You will have high integrity and experience working with competing demands. Investigation experience is not absolutely necessary but you need to be able to support investigators by providing the administrative support, recording-keeping and systems that they use during investigations. This role is ideal for someone with strong stakeholder skills, project management, governance or business operations, experience in investigations is not essential but is a bonus.

  • Salary range: $110,266 - $122,058+ super, commensurate with experience.
  • Excellent leave entitlements: 20 days annual leave, up to additional 24 days flexible leave.

The roles sits within the Investigations and Corruption Prevention Team within the Department’s Policy, Strategy and Governance division.

Reporting to the Manager, Investigations Governance, you will co-ordinate the delivery of high quality administrative and support services through the use of investigation service providers, and in-house resources to ensure the investigation and corruption prevention function achieve its legislative and compliance objectives.

Key responsibilities

Prevention and Education:

  • Develop and deliver engaging educational seminars, workshop and training programs to raise awareness of fraud and corruption risks.
  • Partner with stakeholders across DCS to identify educational needs and create tailored content.
  • Collaborate with ICP QA team to address corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.

Awareness and Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with employees, management and external partners to promote culture of accountability.
  • Act as a trusted resource for fraud and corruption prevention initiatives, offering guidance and expertise.

Governance and Reporting

  • Support Manager Governance with correspondence and statutory reporting obligations, including reporting to ICAC and NSW Ombudsman.
  • Assist in preparing governance reports for DCS Executive Leadership Team and Audit and Risk Committees.

Triage and Administration support

  • Track investigation workflows and timelines, ensuring accurate records management.
  • Assist with triage and preliminary assessment of reported matters, including Public Interest Disclosures.
  • Maintain and report on the conflict of interest and Gift and Benefits register.

About You

Building and maintaining strong working relationships is a key for this role, therefore, you will bring forward your strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills. You will have a key role in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and assisting in the periodic reporting to the Audit and Risk Committees and the Management Assurance Committee.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in operating in a highly sensitive and confidential work environment within a legal, regulatory and/or investigations position.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and case management or similar software containing confidential and sensitive data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/PowerPoint/Word) particularly for extracting data from our case management system and creating accurate and insightful reports.
  • Desired abilities in dashboard creation and data presentations.
