Role Overview:
As a Contracts Manager, you will be a key player in a multidisciplinary team, responsible for overseeing and coordinating complex projects from concept to completion.
Based in Sydney (preferable) or Perth, but with scope to benefit from hybrid work arrangements, you will work closely with contractors and senior management to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review and negotiate draft contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that all parties understand their obligations and that contracts align with project goals and legal standards.
· Ensure the compliance of contractual requirements regarding Insurances, notices, claims etc and advise Project Managers on action plans
· Oversee the execution of contracts throughout a project’s duration, including monitoring progress, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with timelines and budgets.
· Identify potential risks related to contract terms and project execution, including documenting any deviations from the contract and managing claims or disputes that may arise.
· Ensure all documentation related to contracts, changes, and communications is organized and accessible for review or audits.
· Serve as the primary point of contact among various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and subcontractors, facilitating communication to ensure everyone is aligned on project objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:
· Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, that could include, construction management, civil engineering, quantity surveying, or law, amongst others.
o Certifications such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), AICM (Association of International Construction Managers), or other relevant construction management or legal qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
o Training in contract law, project management, or dispute resolution is advantageous.
· Experience:
o At least 3-5 years’ experience managing contracts in the construction industry, including drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
o Familiarity with overseeing construction projects, managing timelines, budgets, and ensuring compliance with contracts during the project lifecycle.
o Solid understanding of legal terms, regulations, and construction industry standards, including contract law, claims management, and dispute resolution.
o Proven experience in managing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that contract obligations are met and mitigating potential risks.
o Experience in cost control, financial management, and budgeting for construction projects.
o A track record of identifying and addressing risks associated with contracts, ensuring compliance, and resolving conflicts or disputes that arise during the project.
o Knowledge of construction project management software and contract management tools is often an advantage.

For this position, we are also open to candidates based in Perth, noting that if based in Perth, frequent travel to Sydney may be required during critical phases of our client projects (1 week a month).
