We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic support workers to join our dedicated team in Forest Lake and surrounding suburbs to provide person centered care to our participants.
About the Role
As a disability support worker, you will play an essential role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing and be respected and valued within their community. You will provide a range of community support to assist clients to be actively involved in their local community, engaged in meaningful opportunities and build relationships.
The participant is needing supports in personal care, community access, and domestic assistance around the house.
Shifts available from Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Sunday between 7:30am – 7:00pm
About You
You are friendly and reliable with a good work ethic. You pride yourself on providing personal care with dignity and respect. You are patience and confident to assist participants diagnosed with functional neurological disorder (FND) and mental health and behaviour of concern. You understand the importance of providing individualised support within a home environment and out in the community. Can adapt to different situations? Think outside the box to solve problems? You are fit enough to push wheelchair and have good communication skills.
Reliability and availability to assist is vital for this role.
Your skills and experience include
• Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities highly desirable
• Experience in Functional neurological disorder
• Experience in mental health and positive behaviour
• Relevant nationally recognised qualification highly desirable
• Must have a valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
• Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
• Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
• NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to obtain before employment)
• Full Australian working rights
• Smart phone with internet access
• Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required
