About TRACQS
We have an exciting opportunity for you to work with a leading Community Development Program (CDP) Provider, to provide and deliver quality pre and post-employment and training services to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians across the Western Tablelands of Far North Queensland.
The Opportunity
The employment consultant will work closely with the Program Manager and Team Leader as well as relevant internal and external stakeholders to establish employment opportunities in accordance with the Community Development Program.
To be considered for the position, you will need to;
- Working with CDP participants across the Western Tablelands region to meet their mutual obligations by providing high quality, individually tailored, employment services in accordance with CDP guidelines.
- Provide high level case management to CDP participants, including managing the commencement/signup process of participants into the program.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive, individually tailored Job Plans in collaboration with participants to identify achieveable goals that lead to employment, work preparation, engagement in Community Projects and barrier management.
- Provide pre-employment support through good case management, training, job search skills, resume development, and hosted placements to increase capacity for employment
- Refer participants to Job Placement Consultants for potential employment and or employment opportunies.
- Maintain regular face to face contact appointments with participants
The Community Development Program is our remote employment and community development service. CDP supports job seekers in remote Australia. The employment consultant will work closely with the Program Manager and Team Leader as well as relevant internal and external stakeholders to establish employment opportunities in accordance with the Community Development Program.
Applying sound commercial and business skills, this position will ensure all matters pertaining to the service delivery of case management operations are adhered to.
What sets you apart from the rest?
- Experience in CDP, Jobs Services Australia, Disability Employment Services or similar with sound working knowledge of the ECSN system
- Knowledge and experience of case management process in a rural or remote environment
- Ability to manage time, set priorities and to achieve outcomes in a demanding environment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records (electronic and paper-based) and to understand and implement contractual requirements and guidelines.
- An awareness of issues affecting people in remote locations and ability to provide effective employment related services in a multi-cultural environment.
- Previous experience working with Job Seekers & remote communities. Preferably in a remote location with knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island protocol and culture.
- Knowledge of key service providers in the local and Western Tablelands Region and the ability to liaise with key stakeholders within the region.
