As a level 3 role, you will directly report to the Deputy Director of Clinical Services – Inpatient Areas (DDCS-IA). Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping our approach to palliative care and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible support and comfort.
Your main duties will include:- Supervising the daily operations of the ward, ensuring seamless patient care, effective staffing, and optimal resource allocation.
- Implementing and maintaining clinical standards and protocols that drive exceptional patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care.
- Fostering a collaborative environment among multidisciplinary teams, inspiring a shared commitment to delivering high-quality care that honours the dignity of every patient.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, ensuring compliance with professional standards and a solid foundation in nursing practice.
- A management or relevant postgraduate specialty qualification that complements your clinical expertise and leadership capabilities.
- Proven experience in palliative care nursing or a related field, coupled with a deep understanding of best practices and the complexities of end-of-life care.
- Strong leadership skills that enable you to inspire, mentor, and motivate a diverse team towards achieving departmental goals and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are essential for building effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, ultimately promoting a compassionate and supportive atmosphere within our unit.
