About the Role
As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in facilitating innovative community access for participants with varying disabilities, including psychosocial and mental health diagnoses. You will be responsible for:
• Building positive relationships with individuals and promoting a supportive community environment.
• Providing personalized care based on each individual's unique needs.
• Assisting individuals in accessing various community-based activities and events.
We are looking for individuals with:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Disability Sector or Aged Care Field.
- Experience working with children, dementia care, and complex behaviours of concern.
- Understanding of Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices.
- Adaptability to support multiple participants.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Patience and the ability to remain adaptable in various situations.
- Genuine care and understanding for individuals with disabilities and mental health illnesses.
- Relevant industry-related education, such as a Certificate in Disability Care, Mental Health, Aged Care, or a related field.
- Commitment to working a flexible roster, including day, afternoon, and overnight shifts.
