The Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care to clients with complex needs. You will be responsible for managing and supporting individuals with behavioral, intellectual, and neurological disabilities. Your role will be crucial in helping our clients achieve their personal goals and maintain them independence while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties include:
- Provide tailored support to meet the unique needs of clients, focusing on their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Create and apply strategies to manage challenging behaviors and promote positive changes.
- Help clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, moving around, meal preparation, and taking medication, while respecting their dignity.
- Track and report any changes in clients' health to healthcare professionals and family members.
- Assist clients with cognitive and developmental activities to help them build skills and maintain independence.
- Coordinate with families, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure consistent and comprehensive care.
- Respond to emergencies effectively, using de-escalation techniques and following safety protocols.
- Keep accurate records of care provided, including progress and incidents.
What you’ll bring:
- Must know how to speak Arabic.
- A professional, ethical, and caring attitude. Clear and effective communication skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in disability support, specifically working with clients requiring complex care.
- Proficient in the use of hoists and providing personal care, including bathing, feeding, and grooming, ensuring clients receive respectful and dignified assistance.
- Hold a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Aged Care, Community Services, or Nursing. Additional relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- Valid NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC), Police Check, and Driver’s License are required. Other relevant certifications will be considered an asset.
