About the Role
The Workplace Health, Safety & Facilities Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and operational efficiency of Stanley College’s campuses. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with WHS regulations, implementing best-practice safety protocols, and overseeing our facilities to provide a secure, sustainable, and well-maintained environment for students and staff.
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive professional who is committed to fostering a culture of workplace safety and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of leading WHS initiatives, mitigating risks, and managing facilities with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
WHS Compliance & Risk Management – Develop and enforce WHS policies, conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Mental Health & Wellbeing – Implement workplace wellness programs, promote mental health initiatives, and provide a supportive environment for staff and students.
Emergency & Crisis Management – Oversee fire safety, medical emergencies, and crisis response, including drills, training, and compliance with legal safety standards.
Facilities, Infrastructure & Sustainability – Ensure campus infrastructure is well-maintained, safe, and operational, overseeing maintenance, security, and sustainability initiatives while optimizing space and planning for future growth.
Vendor, Contract & Resource Management – Manage third-party service providers, procurement, and budget allocations to ensure cost-effective operations without compromising safety or quality.
Training & Safety Culture – Deliver WHS training, promote safety awareness, and cultivate a proactive, compliant workplace safety culture.
Strategic WHS Planning & Resource Management – Develop and manage budgets for WHS and facilities initiatives, optimizing resources to support operational excellence and long-term safety objectives.
✅ What You Bring:
- Expertise & Experience – WHS certification (e.g., Cert IV in Work Health and Safety) and hands-on experience in facilities management.
- Strong Leadership & Compliance Knowledge – In-depth understanding of WHS legislation, risk assessments, and compliance requirements, particularly in Western Australia.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation – A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to analyses the risks, implement safety measures, and drive operational improvements.
- People & Stakeholder Engagement – High-level communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Organizational & Technical Skills – Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and utilize technology (MS Office, facilities management software) to streamline processes.
