About the role

An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Civil Asset Engineer to join our Engineering and Projects division at AGL Loy Yang. You will be responsible for providing asset management and specialist dams expertise relating to the infrastructure at the site and surrounds. The role is also accountable for the development and effective implementation of asset system plans to achieve the required performance and reliability of assigned assets. This position is within the Civil team, who are responsible for managing civil infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Sound, cost effective management of assigned assets and provision of engineering support.
  • Using engineering knowledge to assist in the development of strategic plans such as Asset Management & Maintenance plans and scope plant integrity inspections.
  • Manage changes to plant using the Management of Change process.
  • Provide technical and commercial evaluation to assist in developing budgets and meeting the business plan by managing risk.
  • Apply appropriate theoretical and practical engineering methods to analyse and find solutions for plant failures and problems.
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and goals are introduced and adhered to while meeting the organisation’s policies and standards for HSE Management.

About You

You will be a qualified Engineer who has received or is eligible for Professional Engineer registration in Victoria. You will have experience working in asset management within mining, civil, construction, earthworks or a similar heavy industrial setting with high reliability requirements, high value assets and safety standards.

What you bring to the table

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
  • Experience in ISO 55000 Asset Management Principles is advantageous.
  • Experience in the management of linear pipe networks, both pumped and gravity systems is advantageous.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • An understanding and commitment to HSE requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and disciplines.
  • Experience providing technical investigations using root cause analysis / ICAM.
  • A full Australian driver’s license
